On the afternoon of May 16, 2023, the school-enterprise industry-university-research cooperation and school-local research institute development research conference of Jiangsu University was held in Changzhou Engineering and Technology Research Institute of Jiangsu University. Li Hong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University, Li Qiang, General Manager of Changzhou Science and Education City Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.

Before the conference, Li Hong, Vice president of Jiangsu University, led a team to conduct an in-depth investigation into enterprises. The research group visited Levima Advanced Materials Co., Ltd., Changzhou Mingseal Robot Technology Co., Ltd., and listened carefully to the introduction of the company's development, innovation and research status. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on the problems existing in personnel training, project research and development, and discussed solutions. Then the research group observed the enterprise laboratory, exhibition center and other platforms.

The research meeting was chaired by Ren Xudong, director of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu University.

In the first stage of the conference, special research on university-enterprise-industry-university-research cooperation was carried out. The representatives of the School of Computer Science and the School of Materials made speeches, and pointed out that the scientific and technological achievements "going out" lack of acceptors- fewer counterpart enterprises; At present, the joint training of graduate students needs to further improve the "technological content", putting students truly in the substantive research and development activities; It is suggested that schools respect the particularity and difference of subject development when formulating assessment policies. The representatives of the Intellectual Property School pointed out the importance of expanding the pattern of industry-university-research cooperation, and the research and development cooperation should achieve cross-border and interdisciplinary integration.

Vice President Li Hong summed up the speech, scientific and technological work in universities has always been closely linked with the national policy, focusing on the "four aspects". Scientific researchers should hold the ideological position, fully realize the contribution of transformation of scientific and technological achievements to the national strength and the school discipline development. The university is gradually increasing its emphasis on horizontal subjects, and will encourage the cooperation among the university, enterprise, and industry from multiple dimensions and levels.

In the second stage of the conference, special research on the development of the institute was carried out. Firstly, Qiu Guangyu, President of Changzhou Research Institute, reported the development of the Research institute in the past three years and the existing problems. The presidents of Taizhou Research Institute and Zhenjiang Research Institute made supplementary remarks. The representative of Huizhi Company mentioned the lack of space carrier for school teachers to carry out basic research, and suggested that the school can work with local government to build large scientific platforms such as regional production and education parks. Zhang Yibin, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, responded to the problems such as the recognition degree of the achievements transformation and the use of funds, and put forward corresponding suggestions on how to promote the institutional reform of the institute and build a new type of research and development institution.

General Manager Li Qiang said that Science and Education Town attaches great importance to the cooperation with Jiangsu University.He  suggested that the school provide all-round support and whole-chain services for the cooperative enterprises, and give priority to the cooperation services around the professional with high technology maturity; We will continue to improve incentive policies for public research and development institutions and strengthen the construction of technical managers.

At last, Vice President Li Hong made a summary speech. She pointed out that it is necessary to carry out regular research on local institutes, which is conducive to finding and solving problems. The development of the institute cannot be separated from the support of both the university and the local government. In the next step, the university will adopt a routine, multi-level and interdisciplinary approach to promote the integration between institutes and school disciplines. She commended the Changzhou and Taizhou research institutes for integrating the work with alumni associations, which have mutually supported and developed together. The research institutes are encouraged to explore a diversified and collaborative model of industry and education integration, enable industrial development through interdisciplinary innovation, and promote the deep integration of schools and local areas.
