On the morning of March 5th, Alan Marshall, UK Chair of Jiangsu-UK World-Class University Consortium and professor of Electrical Department of Liverpool University, and his delegation visited Changzhou Science and Education Town for cooperation and exchange, Wang Yuanbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Science and Education Town, Li Qiang, General manager of Science and Education City Investment Holding Group Co., LTD., Ge Yingjie, head of Changzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Mayors Group, Qiu Guangyu, Dean of Changzhou Engineering and Technology Institute of Jiangsu University, received the delegation. The two sides had in-depth discussions on results-based education cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship. Changzhou Engineering and Technology Institute of Jiangsu University actively prepared and participated in the meeting.

Secretary Wang Yuanbing first welcomed the arrival of UK chair, and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Changzhou. He said that Changzhou is a modern city of science and innovation with deep cultural heritage, strong industrial strength, high happiness index, solid industrial foundation and rich atmosphere of innovation. It is also a hot land for investment, innovation and entrepreneurship of enterprises at home and abroad. It is hoped that the consortium can maintain close contact with Changzhou and Changzhou Science and Education City, learn from each other and jointly explore a new situation of mutual benefit and win-win results.

Professor Alan Marshall thanked Changzhou and Changzhou Science and Education City for their care and support for the Consortium. At this stage, the key direction of the consortium is scientific research and education, which is very consistent with the concept of promoting the "deep integration of industry and education and serving the development of emerging industries" of the Science and Education City. In terms of scientific research, the consortium mainly focuses on advanced manufacturing, environmental engineering and medical health. In terms of education, the consortium mainly focuses on the joint training of students and employment and entrepreneurship. It is hoped to strengthen cooperation with Changzhou Science and Education City in education and provide new programs for the consortium in student innovation and entrepreneurship.

In 2020, the consortium has set up an exchange center in Changzhou Engineering and Technology Institute of Jiangsu University. Changzhou Engineering and Technology Institute of Jiangsu University attaches great importance to international industry-university-research exchanges, and continues to promote win-win cooperation between the universities in the consortium and Changzhou in the fields of talent training and scientific and technological innovation through multi-directional efforts.
