Broadband high efficiency Doherty power amplifier

Brief introduction of project results

With the increase of wireless/mobile communication rate requirements, the broadband width and peak-average ratio of future modulated signals aggravate the contradiction between power amplifier efficiency and linearity. Therefore, high efficiency, broadband and linear power amplifier have become the key problems to be solved in the future mobile communication system.

This research group has developed a broadband high efficiency Doherty power amplifier. The specific content is shown in Figure 1:

1. High efficiency Doherty power amplifier with enhanced load modulation

The relevant schematic diagram and simulation results are shown in Figure 2.

Technical features:

1) Increase the current ratio of the two amplifiers (using different load impedance and increasing grid bias voltage)

2) Optimize the input matching network

2. Improved high efficiency Doherty power amplifier for load modulation network

Innovative points:

The method of improving Doherty load modulation network is proposed to overcome the problems of inadequate load modulation and inconsistent gain, power and efficiency in the existing Doherty broadband, and achieve high efficiency and linear amplification of LTE-A 100MHz broadband modulated signal, reaching the international leading level.

The prototype and performance indicators are shown in Figure 4 and Figure 5:

Scope of application and market prospects

Meet the needs of high efficiency amplification of LTE-A continuous carrier aggregation 100MHz broadband modulated signals in 4G and 5G low frequency bands.

Improve the system efficiency when 4G, WIFI and other heterogeneous networks coexist in mobile communication, reduce network energy consumption, and achieve energy conservation and environmental protection.


Investment estimates

Relying on the enterprise's existing communication equipment production capacity; investing about 5 million.
